SMS mix 04 - Chris Coco

The fourth in our series of exclusive Stop Making Sense mixes comes from long-time Balearic stalwart and purveyor of sultry deep house and techno, Chris Coco.

So, what can you expect? Well, according to Chris, "it's more arty party than laidback, more like what I will play on the main stage set at Stop Making Sense I guess."

Spacey, mellow club grooves (tracklisting below) package made for the beach, then...perfect now the sun's finally decided to show it's face in Blighty once more!

We caught up with Chris to find out more...

Tell us about the mix you’ve recorded for Stop Making Sense...
"It's a sort of spacy, mellow club mix, quite percussive and a little Balearic, the sort of thing i will play in my main stage set at the festival."

Any exclusives or particular favourites on there?
"Nicolas Jaar - Mi Mujer, it's a bizarre tune but all the girls think it's really sexy."

What current artists are you drawing inspiration from right now?
"Oh, there are so many. Moodymanc in the world of house; I like the new Caribou and Glimpse albums; stuff on Full Pupp and Claremont 56 is really cool; 2 Door Cinema Club are my favourite new pop band, it just goes on and on."

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at SMS?
"The Very Best, I love their album, the mix of electronic and African influences, that should be really special."

Any unusual festival tips?
"Actually, my usual tips are red wine and hiking boots, for this one we will have sun so a hat a bottle of Veuve I reckon."

Where will we find you at sunrise on Sunday morning?
"By the sea listening to the waves."
